iOS 5

iOS 5

This was no ordinary Monday, people. History was made today. Geeks and gamers ’round the world had an e-boner all day and it started with Apple at their Worldwide Developers Conference 2011:

  • iCloud with 5 GB of storage is free for all with an Apple ID.
  • OS X Lion will be more iOS “like” and tons of new features, all for $30 coming next month.
  • Incoming iOS 5 this Fall cuts the cord on syncing & activating among other big UI updates.

Read all the details and view the keynote video at iTunes 10.3 should be arriving shortly.

As if that wasn’t enough, the bacon got piled on over at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011, or just E3, which started today. Lots of deliciousness was announced today, and here were likely the most anticipated announcements so far:

  • Battlefield 3, October 25, 2011
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, November 8, 2011
  • Halo 4, Q4 2012
  • Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, November 2011
  • Need For Speed: The Run, November 2011
  • Far Cry 3, 2012
  • Mass Effect 3, Q1 2012
  • Minecraft, Q4 2011

These are just some of the more anticipated sequels on this, just day 1 of the expo, with 2 more days left to go. If interested, your best bet to follow what’s coming up in the next few days is to keep an eye on Joystiq’s coverage of the event.

Sony announced their NGP officially as “Vita” for $250 USD for WiFi & $300 for WiFi/3G. Also, a new 24″ 3D monitor bundle for PS3 priced at $500 USD also announced.

I’m sure tomorrow will bring even more announcements and surprises. Stay tuned.

Apple, Apple, Apple! 

If I were an extra-terrestrial alien from outer space reading the news the past 2 days, I’d swear a fruit is running this world called earth. No links this time fellas as I’m sure most of you truly know where to find any of this, however we should all know now that tomorrow we’ll see a new MacBook Pro and next week is the iPad 2 announcement.

Apple is revamping many of their software too including iOS, OSX Lion, Final Cut Pro, and FaceTime for starters. This looks to be the year of Apple starting with Verizon finally on the iPhone bandwagon… do you see where I’m going with this? If I were in the fashion or accessories business, I’d realize that I’d design and produce accessories and clothing tailored for users of Apple products. No, seriously, iPad cases, jeans with an iPhone pocket, not-so-ghey messenger bags for MBP, etc. Little by little, if any of you have resisted or just have not purchased anything Apple, I’m feeling this will be year that even you, yes you, will have something Apple in your home. C’mon, iPod? SRSLY? It’s likely even that extra-terrestrial alien from outer space is bobbing its head with one.

2010 MacBook Pro 13″

April 18th, 2010 No comments

Yes, I did just get a Dell netbook, but it’s not a full laptop. I need power & stability hence why I purchased the latest Apple 13″ 2.4GHz MacBook Pro. It’s everything I need & want in a notebook PC and then some. Being that I’m a convert from 15 years in the Windows world, my experience with Macs is even more limited as compared to Linux ironically, however Vista proved to be horrible yet 7 is great so far but Macs are a superior product and it’s time I jumped in. Care to suggest or recommend anything to this Mac n00b, leave your comment below!
